Young People's Place
The Young People’s Place is an emergency foster care facility that will serve Native and community youth. This facility will be licensed and work with state agencies when a child is need of an emergency safe temporary placement. These placements will offer a safe, nurturing, home-like setting, while case managers develop a placement plan for displaced children.
Hours
This facility will be staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It will require volunteers and on-call workers for emergency situations when regular staff was low. Background checks will be completed on all volunteers to ensure that all children are protected.

The Young People’s Place (YPP) Furnishings Fund Committee
This committee was established by the Tribal Council in 2007. The purpose of the Committee is to ensure that the Young People’s Place reflects the spirit and culture of the Kalispel Tribe while providing a safe and nurturing home for our children. The Committee established a “Furnishings Fund” account and solicits donations. Moneys raised from these donations will be used exclusively for furnishing the Young People’s Place, especially furnishings that reflect the spirit and culture of the Tribe or otherwise provide comfort and security to the children living in the YPP.
Donations are welcome!
When the YPP opens its doors in 2009, the community can truly say, “This is our home, for our children.”
If you have any questions regarding the Young People’s Place Furnishings Fund or would like to donate, please contact Beverly Sarles, Secretary-Treasurer at (509) 447-7126.
