Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Grant
Sexual assault affects us all. However, there are ways that you can protect yourself and your family.
- Get the facts
- Correct the myths
- Get involved
- Change yourself and others to take action
Most sexual assaults (84%) are committed by someone the victim knows. The most common place for an assault to occur is in the victim’s home. We must educate ourselves about the real risks of sexual assault.
Rape victims report one of their greatest concerns is being blamed for the assault. We must show victims we believe them and that we hold the offender, not the victim, responsible.
Most sexual assaults before the victim reaches age 18. We must ensure young people are involved in prevention education.
Counseling services are available for victims of sexual assault and domestic violence.
Services are available at the Kalispel Tribal Court private office in Cusick.
